Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens near Charlotte, NC

David, Rachel and I visited the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens near Charlotte, NC on Saturday afternoon (3/24/2007). It was a beautiful day - sunny, breezy, and very warm. These Gardens are a sight to behold.

And the aroma of the air was soft and sweet.

Here are a few pictures that will give you an idea of the beautiful grounds. The place is still under development and is not scheduled to be completed until 2015. Currently the Orchid House is under construction due to open Spring 2008.
Later we went out for a Bar-B-Q and then back to their home for a nice glass of wine and to unwind.
I had such a lovely time!

Falls Park, Greenville, SC

The Park is located in the middle of the city. It's main attraction is a suspension bridge that spans over the Reddy River. The falls is a three tier waterfall dropping approximately 150 feet. Tourists and local photographers gather here for gorgeous natural backgrounds of flowers and water in their portraits.

Frankie's Fun Park, Greenville, SC

Frankie's got quite a place - Joshua showed me the ropes and we had a terrific time!!!
Miniature golf, shooting hoops, arcade games, and skeet ball... So much to do, so little time.

Greenville Zoo, SC

Here's Joshua at the Greenville Zoo.

The Zoo is located on the outskirts of Greenville. Besides the wonderful exhibits of elephants, monkeys, leopards, birds, aligators, ducks, goats, and chickens the park had numerous hiking trails, playgrounds, a snack bar, and gift shop. We didn't hike because we had other places to go and couldn't cram everything into one day.

The reptile house was really cool! These are pictures of the Rattle Snakes. One shows a reflection of Joshua's arm on the glass enclosure but it looks like his arm is laying on top of the snake. Yikes!!!
